David Aaron Coombe passed away at his home in Whiting, on Friday, December 25, 2015 at the age of 34. David was born in Neptune, New Jersey on December 3, 1981. David grew up in Toms River and graduated from Toms River North in 2000. He played four years of high school football as starting quarterback. During that time David won multiple awards. He attended Maryland University for one year and played football for the Montgomery Fighting Nights. David recently returned to college to earn a degree in computer science.
David was an avid lover of sports and during his young life had played football, baseball, wrestling, and soccer. He also enjoyed golfing, snow-boarding, boating, and fantasy football. David was an avid Giant fan and one of his greatest joys was attending Giant games. David loved his two pit bulls, Bill and Babe, and treated them like his children.
David is survived by his mother, Louise Coombe of Whiting; his father, Kenneth Wingler and his wife Amy Wingler of Toms River; his brothers Trevor Wingler, Edward Woodruff and his wife Jessica, and Thomas Woodruff and his wife Nicole; his aunts Roseann Mangold and her husband Jack, and Evelyn Corso; his uncle Michael Corso and his wife Annora; his nieces Emma and Sophia; and his cousins, Danielle, Leigh-Ann, Jennifer, Robert, John, and Jessica. David was predeceased by his grandparents Ruth and Peter Krahling.
In the 34 years that we spent with him, David shared an unforgettable humor, a disarming smile, wit, and a contagious laugh that is already missed more than we can even begin to explain. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend.
