Born in Irvington, she was raised in Bloomfield before moving to Toms River in 1982.
Debbie Stevens was a doting mother, wife, sister, and friend. A loyal and kind soul, she was always there to lend an ear and support her loved ones with gentleness and strength of heart. She enjoyed journaling, music, and playing guitar. An avid belly dancer in her youth, she brought the joy and freedom of dance and music to her children. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet guidance. Her spirit lives on in her two daughters, who carry forward her compassion and resilience. Her legacy is not only in what she did, but in who she raised; strong women and devoted mothers who reflect the very best of her. Through her children, her compassion, loyalty, and the values she held dear will continue to shape the lives of those around them, most especially her grandchildren. She will be profoundly missed.
Debbie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Douglas Stevens, and adored mother, Betty Stango.
She is survived by her cherished daughters, Jennifer Banner and Sarah Martin; her two precious grandsons, James and Henry; devoted sons-in-laws, Mathias and Christopher; her treasured siblings, Joyce and Robert Stango; and her most cherished and steadfast friend, Peggy Mondics
