

Ellen V. Newsome, 90, of Toms River, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jamestown, NY, she lived in Bloomfield, NJ before moving to Toms River in 1986. Ellen volunteered in many capacities including a religious education coordinator at St. Valentine's Church in Bloomfield. She cherished taking care of her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Ellen's favorite hobby was arts and crafts.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold, in 1992; and her daughter, Elizabeth Bagnole, in 2007. Surviving are her daughters, Mary Lighthipe and her husband Gary and Kathryn Byrne and her husband James; her son-in-law, Bruce Bagnole; granddaughter, Wendy Bagnole and her partner Marie Marro; grandsons, James Byrne, Timothy Byrne and Shawn Lighthipe; her great-grandsons, Thomas and Stephen Bagnole-Marro; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at St. John's Church, 619 Chestnut St., Lakehurst. Burial will follow at Brig. Gen. William C.
