I was saddened to learn of Everett's passing. I shared a 42-year friendship with him and his late wife Verdia.  He had a gregarious personality and was an excellent cook and entertainer. Through his service in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Everett became an expert in telecommunications engineering, and after leaving the army formed Johnson Telecom Services. In partnership with Bechtel Corporation, they constructed communications systems in Saudi Arabia during the late 80's and early 90s.  After returning to the US, his company completed fiber optics projects for Verizon.  He closed the company to take care of Verdia who had Alzheimer's. the same condition he was later diagnosed with.  He was my friend and I'm going to miss him.
