

Harvey Donald Cobb, 86, of Berkeley Township, NJ, passed away on Saturday, March 28th. Harvey was born February 11th 1934 to Charlotte McDonnell Cobb and Leon James Cobb, in Atlantic City, NJ. Harvey grew up alongside his siblings Edmund, Charlotte, James, and Mary Etta. Harvey and his siblings all attended Atlantic City High School.
Harvey enlisted in the Marine Core after high school during the time of the Korean War, and served for 9 years from September 25th, 1951 and was honorably discharged September 24th, 1959. While serving in the Marine Corp, Harvey was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and had received a sharp shooters medal, a good conduct medal, and a national defense service ribbon. He was very proud of the time that he had served his country.
As a young man, Harvey had grown to love horses and found much joy in riding and showing them. He also had a great love for shore life and being close to the water, which allowed him to spend time boating and offshore racing.
Harvey had worked for Atlantic City Transit as well as Lincoln Transit and New Jersey transit as a bus driver until his retirement. During this time Harvey had also worked for New York Life Insurance in the receiving department. Harvey married the love of his life Grace Mary Mangabang on March 8th, 1969 at Venice Park United Methodist Church in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
During his retired life, he enjoyed spending countless hours with his grandchildren and making memories with his family.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Grace Cobb, daughter, Dujan Dunton; his son-in-law Loring Dunton, his sister, Mary Etta Loggi and her husband Dr. Daniel Loggi, his three grandchildren Kielly, Luke and Loring. Several nieces and nephews also survive Harvey. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Edmund Mawhinney, James Cobb and his sister Charlotte Mawhinney Sweeney; his parents, Charlotte McDonnell Cobb and Leon James Cobb.
In consideration of the current health crisis, Harvey’s family will have a memorial service in celebration of his life at a later date.
