

James Robert Anderson, 71, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on December 24, 2016, surrounded by his family at home. He was born in Hackensack, NJ, to Gustav and Mary (Madden) Anderson. James is survived by the love of his life, Judy Anderson, to whom he was married 52 years. Together they made a happy, loving life for their three daughters: Christina Anderson-Muniz, Laura Gillen and her husband James, and Jamie Anderson-Ference and her husband Scott; and eight grandchildren: Matthew and his fiancé Katelyn, Mackenzie, Katie, Derek, Meghan, Abigail, Kobi, and Elizabeth. James is also survived by his three siblings, nieces, nephews, and his godchildren.
James was an auto and marine mechanic. He worked as a parts manager for Comstock Boat Works. He raced in both cigarette boats and stock cars. He was an avid NASCAR and Hot Rod fan. James lived every day for his amazing grandchildren whom he adored.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, from 2-4 and 7-9PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. A Mass will be held on Thursday at 10AM at St. Joseph Church, Hooper Avenue, in Toms River. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Penn State THON, Pi Beta Phi, PO Box 177, State College, PA 16804.
