

James Edward Brown Jr, known to his loved ones as Mitt, entered eternal rest on January 20, 2024, in Lakewood, NJ, at the age of 42. He was born on June 8, 1981, to James Sr. and Kathy Brown in Freehold, NJ. Kathy his mother and Tony his step father of Va. survive him.
James had a larger-than-life personality and a great sense of humor. He had a knack for storytelling and could always make people laugh. He had a deep love for his family, friends, and his daughters, Jai’onna and Hadiya Brown both of North Carolina Mahogany Brown of Virginia, Nevaeh Brown of NJ, and Valerie King of NJ. James shared a special bond with his cousins Randy and Ricky, who were like brothers to him , and Candy who was like another sister. His infectious laugh and big personality will be missed by all who knew him.
In his free time, James enjoyed fishing, visiting Atlantic City, playing basketball, playing video games, food, talking on the phone and listening to loud music. These were some of his favorite hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation.
James is also survived by his sister, Lashonda Anderson, of Virginia, and his brother, William Lee Brown, of New Jersey, a sister Scharita Brown of Va. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Brown Sr., and his paternal grandparents, Theresa Enalls and William Crippen. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Catherine Walker and step grandfather Curtis Walker. James is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Johnny Grant, and his aunts, Lessie (Greg) Hodge of NJ, Ella (Robert) Dotson of Ga, Pamela McKellar of Fla, Valerie Enalls and Rhonda Enalls both of Nj. His Uncles Kenneth Enalls and Rodney Brown both of NJ and Bobby (Sharon) Holmes of Fla. and Johnny (Anita) Holmes of DE. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.
A service to honor and celebrate James's life will be held on Feb 3, 2024 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral home located at 703 Main St in Toms River, NJ from 9-11 am, after the service James will be brought to Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls where he will have eternal peace. The funeral home will be assisting the family during this difficult time and they are handling the arrangements.
James Edward Brown Jr, or Mitt as he was affectionately known, will forever remain in our hearts. His infectious laughter, love for his family, and zest for life will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
