Joseph Iovino, of Beachwood, was born 1/6/1943 in Manhattan, NY to Jacob and Jeanne Iovino. Joe received most of his education in NYC schools but after moving to the Jersey Shore he graduated from Toms River High School in 1961, after only attending for his senior year. Joe married the girl next door and together they raised two sons. Joe was a proud member of IUOE Local 825, Springfield, NJ. Given the opportunity, he loved to talk about his experiences as a heavy equipment operator and his other love, motorcycling. He traveled all over the country and put a lot of miles on his Harley. A memorable motorcycle trip was picking his grandson up in Colorado and then proceeding to California and back. They saw a lot of our beautiful USA and it made lasting memories for both of them. Joe rode with Polar Bear Grand Tour during the winter and any nice day the rest of the year was an excuse to ride. Motorcycling gave Joe a wonderful group of friends. Joe was very involved with activities with his sons growing up -coaching their baseball and soccer teams, taking them fishing at Island Beach State Park. Another very important part of Joe’s life was being a member of and serving as an usher at First United Methodist Church of Toms River each week, bringing great joy to him.
Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judy; his sons: Joe and wife Diane, of Colorado; Ron of California; 4 grandchildren JT (Joe Third), Kristi, Jacquelyn and Emma; and his sisters: Santa Jean Cure and Rina Fiumara-Dungey.
Joe was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Jack and Jay.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a funeral service at 4:00 pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 129 Chestnut Street, Toms River, NJ 08753, in memory of Joe.
