

Kathleen ‘Kaky’ Susan (Healy) Blais passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022, in the Toms River Community Medical Center at the age of 92 after suffering an unexpected major medical episode. Kathleen was born in Albany, NY on February 23, 1930; one of ten children born to Leo I. & Rosemary M. (Gallagher) Healy.
She worked as a Bell Telephone representative for several years after graduating from Vincentian Institute in Albany. Kaky supervised 16 moves during her 38 year marriage to the late Robert F. Blais, finally settling in North Plainfield, NJ in 1964. She was a full-time housewife and mother to Katherine ‘Bunny’ & David for 17 years, then enjoyed 25 years working for Shoe-Town in North Plainfield, NJ retiring as manager. Her last move 18 years ago was to her current Beachwood, NJ home where she enjoyed maintaining her property, reading, crocheting, thrift store shopping and chatting with her neighbors as well as the workers at the stores she frequented.
Kaky is survived by her daughter Katherine (Peter) Napierkowski, grandson Brian, brother Richard (Joan) Healy, sister Ellen Speicher, brother-in-law Paul Blais and many nieces & nephews of the Healy and Blais families. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Pamela, parents Leo & Rosemary, husband Robert, son David, brothers John ‘Jack’, Leo, Robert & Michael ‘Kevin’, and her sisters Rosemary Larue, Marnie Salvador & Patricia Burton.
