Keith McCurnin, 56, of Lanoka Harbor, passed away on January 29, 2021 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Keith lived in Toms River before moving to Lanoka Harbor 2 years ago. The world lost a great uncle, father, best friend, and husband when he passed. He was predeceased by his parents James and Rita McCurnin & his brothers James and Terrance. Surviving are his beloved wife of 25 years Elizabeth “Bunny” (Perrotto) McCurnin; two incredible sons Branden and Christopher; his brother Michael; his mother-in-law Anna Perrrotto, as well as Maria, Justin, Marcus, Melissa, Amanda, Nico, & Roman.
As far back as anyone can remember Keith & Bunny had been a loving couple. Eventually they married, and had two perfect children together. They were from Hudson County but decided to raise their family at the Jersey Shore. It was his dream to live on the water, and he accomplished it (twice). Keith & Bunny dearly complimented each other & together they would overcome some obstacles in life than many of us never had. Keith was a true family man. He enjoyed watching his boys play sports and coached their basketball teams. On the weekends he loved boating, fishing, and watching the games surrounded by friends and family.
He was employed for International Trucks in Linden as a Service Director for over 10 years, however he truly embodied the entrepreneurial spirit. He worked with his father at JM Towing on Neptune Ave in Jersey City, before opening his own successful towing & salvage yard/auto repair business. A master mechanic, with an encyclopedia of knowledge and wisdom about vehicles. He could fix a flat with his eyes closed, or overhaul a heavy duty diesel engine with ease.
He had that funny Irish American personality and was admired & respected by all. He was a beacon of strength for his people. From Jersey City to the Jersey Shore, he leaves behind a deep roster of friends and family who will honor his name and legacy. We will all remember that big laugh.
Cremation was private. A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will take place at a later date. Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River is in charge of arrangements.
