Lawrence F. Manning, 80, passed away on February 19, 2021 from complications due to COVID-19. He was surrounded by his loving wife Ruth of 59 years and his children, Jeanmarie Lamme (Dennis), Brian (Debra), Larry (Merry), Sean (Stacey). He was most proud of his children and their spouses and he loved unconditionally his ten grandchildren, Brian, Jacqueline, Hannah, Dallas, Sean, Grace, Dennis, Ava, Zoe, and Alexandra.
He is predeceased by his son Michael, his parents Mary and John who emigrated from Ireland, as well as his sisters Catherine and Mae.
He was born and raised in Jersey City, he served his country in the United States Army and returned home to serve a 25 year distinguished career as a member of the Jersey City Police Department.
Larry was an avid reader and endless learner, who loved spending time with his family. He never knew a stranger and he never knew an enemy, he was liked by everyone. Memories of him will be forever cherished and he will be missed by all who knew him.
A Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 11:30 am at St. Joseph RC Church, 685 Hooper Ave, Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River.
