Marie Pellet Callahan

Marie Pellet Callahan, 95, of Forked River, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at home. Born in Bayonne, NJ, she moved to Toms River in 1953 and has lived in Forked River since 1990. Marie was a Real Estate Broker in Toms River and Whiting for many years before her retirement. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Toms River and also a choir member. Marie loved spending time with her cherished family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Lena Pellet, her husband Robert J. and her brother Jack Pellet. Surviving are two sons Peter Robert Callahan and his wife Virginia of Richmond, TX and Dr. Jeffrey Callahan and his wife Dr. Susan E. Fitzgerald of Reading, MA; her grandchildren Christopher, Katherine, Matthew, Colleen, Patrick, Rebecca and Michael; and her sister-in-law Margaret Pellet.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 415 Washington St., Toms River. A committal chapel service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association or the Diabetes Foundation in memory of Marie.
