

Dolan, Mary J. Carroll, 79 of Toms River on Thursday, May 26, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Teaneck, NJ. Mary was a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Angels, Fort Lee and attended LeMoyne
College in Syracuse, New York. She met her husband Frank while working at Bendix in Teterboro, NJ and he proposed to her on St. Patrick's Day 1959 by singing "The Rose of Tralee". It was the first
of over 50 St. Patrick's Days they would have together, hosting family parties and celebrating their Irish heritage. Prior to Toms River, Mary lived in Washington Twp (Bergen County) for 33 years, where she
raised five children. She worked for B. Altman's and Bergen Pines County Hospital and retired in 1993. After moving to Toms River, she became a real estate agent for Weichert Realtors. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's parish and previously St. Justin the Martyr. She was warm, welcoming and generous to everyone she knew and she had an excellent sense of humor. She loved to entertain; hosting family holidays, parties, and clambakes both in NJ and at Wanaksink Lake in upstate, NY. She enjoyed bridge and over the years met many friends while playing. She will be dearly missed.
She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Francis X. Dolan; her parents, John F. and Theresa Melia Carroll; her brothers, John F. Carroll and Brian P. Carroll; sisters-in-law Catherine Carroll, Shirley Carroll, Judith Dolan, Alice Dolan Rohan, Mary Dolan Mullowney Marguerite Dolan and Mary Dolan; brothers-in-law Rev. Charles F.X. Dolan SJ., Rev. James F. Dolan SJ, William S. Dolan MD, John F. Dolan, Jerome A. Dolan MD, Hon. Thomas E. Rohan, and Gerald Mullowney.
She is survived by her loving children Joseph G. and his wife Janice, John F., Charles F. X., Michael T. and his wife Susan, and her daughter, Ann M. Dolan and her fiancée Larry McGovern; grandchildren
Aidan F. X., Michael T. and Erin F. Dolan; her sister-in-law Sr. Eileen Dolan SC, her cousins Sr. Kathleen Tracey SC, Virginia Tracey and Joan Reuda as well as 25 nieces and nephews and many grand and
great grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Burial will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the New York Province of the Society of Jesus 39 East 83rd Street NY, NY 10028 or the College of Mount Saint Vincent 6301 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY 10471 would be appreciated.
