
She grew up in Brooklyn, NY, later moved to Chicago with her first husband Richard until his passing from pancreatic cancer at age 36. She returned to Brooklyn where she worked for an insurance company. A customer there introduced her to her husband in 1960, the couple adopted their only child in 1963 and lived in Toms River, NJ until 1986 when they retired on six acres in Little Egg Harbor.
Rhoda was a unique woman who spoke her mind and had no edit button. She has suffered from dementia and Alzheimer's for the past several years.
Rhoda is predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years Dr. Ira Jerome Holzman, parents David and Jennie Finkelstein, first husband Professor Richard Wohl, sister & brother-in-law Hal and Helen Grayson, and niece Arlene Phoebe Patrylak McGuire. She is survived by her daughter Theresa "Tess" Perlman, three granddaughters, Arielle, Abigail and Alannah Perlman, niece JoAnn Sokoloff(Joseph), nephew Jon Grayson(Cathy), great nieces Amy and Jennifer, great nephews Douglas, David and Josh, loving friend Jaclyn Deforge and her loyal friends for over 50 years Nina Piscal and Ellen Martin.
Rhoda did not want any kind of arrangements or “fuss” after she passed. From the family to those that knew her, you have been blessed and we thank you for being the part of her life that you were, from an acquaintance to those closest to her.
A private funeral will be held for Rhoda under the direction of Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River.
