Beloved wife of 70 years and survived by her husband Edward Kelleher and mother to Dorina, Krista, and Kim, grandmother to David, Ann, and Robert, great-grandmother to Annabelle, Lilliana, Ellie, Rob, Molly, Louis and Curt.
Born in Brasov, Romania, Rita worked as translator for the Allies during World War II.
Edward had been assigned to the Graves Registration Unit in Romania to identify fallen soldiers and airmen.
They were married in Sinaia, Romania, in 1946 and returned to Elizabeth, NJ, to begin their long and happy lives together. They moved to Toms River 27 years ago.
Following a private ceremony Rita will be interred at the Military Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey.
