Known to many as Spanky, then Jersey, he came into this world early as a preemie and left the world far too early as well. Born in Staten Island, NY relocating to Rockaway, NJ. Ryan was raised on Circle Drive, playing in the woods and on bikes with his Sister Christine, Cousins Joey & Jenna and many friends. Ryan was always curious with how things worked, taking things apart, asking “how?” and “why?” Joining the Mt. Hope Fire Department Volunteer squad in High School was his proudest time. Ryan leaves behind his Loving Mother and Step-father, Carlene & Raymond Doyle, Father Kevin P. Kelly, Sister & Husband, Christine & Ben Schell, Niece & Nephew, Evan & Julia Schell, Many Devoted Aunts & Uncles, Cousins Joey Ramsaroop & Jenna and Chris Smith, Dennis Kelly & Nicole & Rob Parkman, Joanna & Husband Spencer Recca, Katie Balzarano, and Nicole and BiagioCarannante.
After high school he relocated to Barefoot Bay, Florida, living with his father a number of years. An Irish & Italian man, in sunny Florida in a black tinted out car, only Ryan could make work. Returning to NJ, Ryan enjoyed Mom’s Italian food, family get togethers, becoming a human jungle gym for Evan & Julia. Always ready to help out, first one to crack a joke and definitely looking to break any awkward silence. Ryan was a buster, all the way around. He looked to “bust chops”. His charm worked, his laughter was unique. He loved country music, he was all things-American, he was a Christian, and wanted to listen to his music loud. He wore work boots 365 days a year and he wanted to get his hands dirty to get whatever task done. He was excited to teach his 4 year old niece Julia all things construction to pass on his knowledge. Evan was his engineer apprentice.
Ryan found a fellowship at the Market Street Mission, Jersey shore Rescue Mission and at the Samaritan House, he would make complaints but we know he loved each one of them. Thank you to all of the programs that were there for him. Each step, each challenge, each friend and each foe. He had stories, he had tales, he brought fun and he was always engaging. We all will miss him dearly for the uniqueness he brought to each of our lives.
A private cremation was entrusted to Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services.
A Celebration of his Life is being planned, all details will be announced as soon as possible. Please keep in contact with the family.
