

Sean M. McDevitt, 61, of Toms River, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Born in Neptune, he was a longtime resident of Seaside Heights and attended Central Regional High School, Class of 1972. During his youth he operated the popular Himalaya and Jet Star amusement rides at the Casino Pier on the Seaside Heights boardwalk. For over 10 years he was a state firefighter at the Meadowlands Sport Complex. Sean’s early passion and love for music led him to become a well-known DJ in the Tri-State area, “Sean Mack.” He began his 40 year entertainment career with Pro DJ Entertainment and later worked at Jenkinson’s Pavilion and numerous venues in the Tri-State area. Sean’s most recent project involved broadcasting on the rock internet radio show, “The Park”.
He is predeceased by his wife Cynthia Hobbs McDevitt in 2008 and his mother Muriel. Surviving are his son Casey; his father John; his sister Colleen Boueil; niece Laurence Boueil; brother-in-law Peter Chambers and sister-in-law Allison Chambers.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Sean’s life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan 25, 2015 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. Cremation will be private. Condolences may be made by visiting www.andersonandcampbell.com.
