Passed away peacefully Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 90 years of age, with his daughters Betty and Jeanette by his side. He was born on March 7, 1931, in Yauco, Puerto Rico. He was pre-deceased by his son Tomas Ortiz Jr. and his daughter Digna Irizarry. He leaves behind his wife Manuela Ortiz of 73 yrs. of marriage and daughters Jeanette Vazquez, Betty Rod and Sally Torres. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren which all love him beyond belief. Mr. Ortiz came to the United States at the age of 20 and he would say with “50 cents in his pocket.” He owed his ticket of arrival to his employer who saw what a hard worker he was and felt he deserved better opportunities. He worked many jobs but retired as a proud UPS employee of 20 years. What could we say…...? We could say that if you were lucky enough to have met such a humble man you were blessed. He was a hardworking, ambitious man who worked hard for all he had and expected us all to do the same. He passed away proud of all his and of course of all his family’s accomplishment. In his heart, he passed away a rich man with what we all accomplished. Our Dad was the greatest Dad, grandfather, great- grandfather and great-great grandfather in the world. He loved unconditionally and helped others as much as he could. He had a heart of gold. Daddy, I’m sure you knew that our lives will never be the same without you. You will live forever in our hearts and soul. We will live our lives the way you taught us and will all continue to do what’s right so that you could rest in peace and still look down at us with pride. We love you Daddy, and we could never stop saying it enough and thank you for being a loving Dad until the end! XOXOXO
