Adam Kakegamic was born November 25, 1987. He lived with an open heart, loving and proud of friendships wherever he made them. Adam was beginning his journey as a traditional fire keeper, a role he embraced with sincerity and dedication. His light abruptly went out on June 6, 2026, and he will be remembered for the kindness and steady presence he brought to every room.
Adam is Survived by: Mother: Ida Fiddler; Older sister: Jesse Meekis; Younger brother: Shane Kakegamic; Friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many others who met him along the way.
He was predeceased by his father, the late John Kakegamic.
Adam’s friendships were a source of pride and joy to him. He found community in small moments and left an impression on everyone he met. As he began the sacred work of a traditional fire keeper, those who knew him saw a person committed to culture, to care, and to carrying light for others. He will be missed deeply and remembered with love.
The burial will take place in Ghost Point Cemetery Sandy Lake First Nations.
