Angelo Andrea Lippa, age 94, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026. Born on September 11, 1931, in Villavallelonga, L'Aquila, Italy, Angelo lived a life marked by steady purpose, quiet strength, and a deep devotion to family and work.
Born in Villavallelonga, L'Aquila in 1931, Angelo later immigrated to Canada in June of 1951, making his way to British Columbia. With the courage to begin again in a new country and the determination to build a good life through honest effort, he embraced each new chapter with resilience and resolve.
In Trail, B.C., Angelo met the love of his life, Rosemary. In 1964, Angelo and his young family made their home in Toronto, Ontario, where he continued to shape a life grounded in responsibility, perseverance, and care for those around him.
For more than 50 years, Angelo worked as an auto mechanic, known for skilled hands, straightforward integrity, and a work ethic that never sought recognition—only the satisfaction of a job done properly. He also owned his own mechanic business, Columbia Garage LTD., a lasting reflection of the hard work and bold determination required to build something enduring through years of dedicated labour.
Outside of work, Angelo found simple enjoyment in watching soccer and Formula One, following the sport with the same steady attention he brought to the rest of his life.
Angelo is reunited in heaven with his loving wife of 53 years, Rosemary. He will be deeply missed by his beloved son, Joseph, and Joseph’s wife, Antonietta. Angelo was a proud “nonno coco” to Angelo (Myriam) and Stephanie (Tony), and a cherished bisnonno to Roman, Isabella, and Eliana.
He will be missed by his many friends, extended family and all who knew him.
