Antonina was born on April 1, 1934, in Salemi, Sicily. In 1965, she immigrated to Canada with her beloved husband, Giuseppe. After being widowed in 1975, Antonina took immense pride in raising their son, Mario, and courageously embracing the role of both parents.
Antonina was a woman of remarkable strength, courage, and passion. She loved her family and friends dearly and found great joy in the outdoors, gardening, cooking, and sewing. Whatever she did, she did with her whole heart. She approached every challenge and every task with determination, care, and unwavering dedication.
She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, daughter, and nonna. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Giuseppe Summa, and is now reunited with him, as well as her parents, Giovanni and Rosaria; her siblings, Stefano, Vito, and Giuseppina (Stefano); and the rest of the Summa family.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Mario (Giovanna), and her grandchildren, Giuseppe (Cassia), Massimo, and Julia.
Antonina was a loving and proud nonna, and nothing would have brought her greater joy than knowing she would have been a bisnonna.
Her strength, love, and passion for life will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of family, resilience, and love that will continue through the generations.
May she rest peacefully, reunited with the love of her life, Giuseppe.
