It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio Caforio, who passed away peacefully in Toronto, Ontario, on August 12, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on October 28, 1935, in Monopoli, Bari, Italy, Antonio built a beautiful life filled with family, tradition, love, and laughter.
Antonio will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 63 years, Angela, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories.
He was the devoted father of Isabella (Mike), Serafina (Fernando), and Iolanda (Antonio), and a cherished nonno to Alessandro, Giulia, Adriano, Sofia, Katherine, Veronica, and Luca. He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings Anna, Mietta, and Lillino, as well as his extended family and many dear friends.
Antonio found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved gathering around the table for a spirited game of scopa, making homemade wine and soppressata, and tending lovingly to his garden. His hands were rarely still, always creating, growing, or preparing something to share with the people he loved. Above all, Antonio treasured his family and the traditions that brought everyone together.
His warmth, generosity, humour, and love will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of family, tradition, and countless memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
If desired, donations in Antonio’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
May he rest in eternal peace.
