Antonio Sinibaldo Calabretta died peacefully at home surrounded by family and his caregiver. He was an honorable, dedicated and humble family man. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Gesa, who tenderly cared for him at home until his last breath. He will be held close and dear in the hearts of his beloved children: his daughter Teresa and son-in-law Mauro Caprini and his son Tony and daughter-in-law Anna. Caro Nonno of his cherished grandchildren Mark, Adrian, Daniel and Alessia. Dear brother of Celestino (the late Benedetta), Vincenzo and Maria (Bruno). He will be reunited in Heaven with his parents Teresina and Vito Antonio and his siblings Elvira and Marziale. He will be cherished by many relatives and friends.
Antonio Sinibaldo immigrated to Canada from Italy in 1954 and worked hard to establish himself in Canada where he would raise his family. He was a simple man with great faith and integrity who brightened the world with his smiles. The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the tremendous support of family, friends and neighbours during Antonio Sinibaldo’s illness as well as the variety of invaluable services provided by CCAC especially Nurse Winsome and Nurse Heather, the exceptional care provided by the Circle of Care Personal Support Workers especially Bibi, Brenda, Charm, Lucy as well as Feona and Nathalee, private care givers, the compassionate care from his doctors, Dr. Marotta, Dr. Vecchio and Drs. Prewal, Berman, Buckman and Shapiro from the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care without whose help and support he would not have been able to continue to live at home.
If you so desire, donations may be sent to the Mount Sinai Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care http://tinyurl.com/n9wgouj or to the St. Anthony of Padua Mission Aid http://tinyurl.com/pjzj2sa (please do not donate online using the link, as the currency is in euros, this link is here to provide you contact information of the Canadian office). For every life has a purpose to fill, a purpose which us humans can seldom infer. But he was a gift from heaven, whose purpose was to make this world understand what love, friendship, goodness, and humbleness was all about. Goodness belongs to heaven, and I know he is watching us from there, bestowing his beautiful smile upon us. (Source: Unknown)
