Aristides Bocaz passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 8, 2017 in Toronto, Ontario. He is predeceased by his parents, Juan and Juana. Survived by his loving children, Paula and John, and grandchildren, Nicholas Bocaz, Samira and Marcus Pollard. In Santiago, Aristides was both the Head of the Library Sciences Department and the Professor, and also a Spanish Professor at the Universidad de Chile, where he was known by his pupils for being a very engaging educator. Aristides continued to teach in Canada as an ESL teacher, and was also very passionate and involved in politics and current affairs. His love of languages and travelling led him to various exciting destinations. Aristides was physically active until his final days, and was writing a book to support learners of English as a Second Language. Aristides will be missed by his family, friends and colleagues, both here in Canada, and in Chile.
