Arrigo was born on December 24, 1934 in Osoppo, Udine, Friuli, Italy and peacefully passed away in his home, surrounded by his family, on May 14, 2026 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the age of 91 years.
He will be joining the love of his life, his wife of 63 years, Maria Fortunata, in Heaven. Loving father of Sandra Pezzetta (Michael Paterna), Lino Pezzetta (Laurie) and cherished Nonno of Stefano (Valentina), Michael, Amelia and Alexandra. Arrigo was also blessed to witness the birth of his first great-grandchild Felix.
He will be dearly missed by his sister-in-law, Giuseppina, and by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Arrigo will be loved and forever remembered by all his family and friends.
Arrigo has been reunited in heaven with his beloved parents Vitalina and Garbino Pezzetta and his loving brother Antonio.
Arrigo was a kind, strong, and deeply loved man whose family was the centre of his life. He was always ready to lend a hand, often the first person called when something needed fixing, and he would show up without hesitation. Over a career spanning more than 55 years, he worked in construction and, together with his brother Tony, co-founded Pezzetta Bros., helping build homes and projects throughout the GTA.
A skilled and versatile tradesman, Arrigo could repair or build just about anything, always with patience, pride and passion. He also had a lighthearted spirit – a prankster at heart – he had a great sense of humour as he loved bringing laughter to those around him.
He took great pride in the home he built with his wife Maria, where they raised their family and created a lifetime of cherished memories. Their home was always full of warmth and activity, with family gatherings around the table and time spent together under the grapevine patio. He loved the outdoors and had a deep affection for animals, enjoying hunting, trapshooting, and his role as a founding member of the Toronto Trap and Skeet Club.
In his later years, he found great joy in supporting his grandchildren at their sports games, recitals and activities, always present with pride and encouragement. Arrigo will be remembered for his generosity, his hardworking nature, his humour, and the enduring love he showed to his family and all who knew him
Rest in peace, Arrigo. You will forever be in our hearts.

To the staff at the Calabrian Benevolent Seniors Day Program, thank you for your genuine warmth and compassionate care shown to Arrigo, and for the meaningful and engaging activities you provided during his time with you.
To our two exceptional and devoted PSWs:
Menbi and Marjorie, you always showed such gentleness, compassion, commitment, and genuine care. We will forever be deeply grateful.
And finally, Jazmine — for more than 3+ years, you cared for “Papa” as though he were your own family. Arrigo always had the biggest smile when you arrived. You made him laugh, treated him with dignity and respect, and cared for him with unconditional love. Your presence in our lives is a true blessing, and we can never thank you enough for being there for him — and for all of us — every step of the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family have requested donations in Memory of Arrigo Arturo Pezzetta be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Hennick Humber River Foundation.
