It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our Mum, Audrey Cherry on Monday May 5th at Michael Garron Hospital. She was 98 years of age. Audrey passed peacefully with her family by her side.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Janet and Helen, son-in-law Juha Tuominen, sister Pamela Beasant (Graham), her nieces and nephew, brother-in-law Gordon Cherry (Patricia)
Audrey was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Len.
Audrey lived a long and full life filled with love and much laughter. A caring and thoughtful person who loved her “girls” dearly, she was a constant source of support and great strength to them.
Audrey was born in Scotland in 1927 and moved to England as a young child with her parents and siblings. Much of her adult life was spent in England where she met her lovely Royal Marine husband, Leonard Cherry. At the age of 42 she emigrated to Canada with her family where she lived in Toronto for the remainder of her life. We will all miss her lively character, great sense of humour, her kindness and strength.
In lieu of flowers we would like donations sent to the palliative care unit at Michael Garron Hospital. Their donation site is mghf.ca/inmemory
A visitation for Audrey will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4C1L3, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
