We are sad to announce the sudden passing of Bill Stoikos. Bill was a loving and devoted family man, dedicated above all to being a good and proud father to his two daughters Sarah and Natalie. He was also a devoted son, brother, cousin, friend, and most especially, in recent years a grandfather to his three precious granddaughters – Mila, Leia and Maya.
Bill was born on May 21, 1955 in Armensko, Greece and came to Canada when he was only a few weeks old with his parents Louis and Evangeline, and older sister Dorothy.
Throughout his life he had a profound passion for music. As a teenager he found himself playing in a rock band and, of course, he enjoyed going to concerts. Even as he got older he would have a handy guitar by his side and liked to play it. He later developed a passion for photography and was always the one in the family who would be taking the pictures or movies, no matter the event.
He liked computers and electronics as well, and took a number of courses in this area. He was the go-to guy if anyone ever had a problem.
Then there was sports. Bill played hockey as a boy and followed the Maple Leafs, to whom he was another long-suffering fan. On the international scene, he was always there cheering for Canada, no matter what sport it might be. And he liked to cook and would often take in the more popular cooking shows on TV.
Bill was simple and uncomplicated in his approach to life, but being with family was definitely the most important thing to him. He will be missed by all those who loved him.
