In his 95th year, peacefully on Sunday, February 13th, 2011 at Bethany Lodge. Beloved husband of his wife of fifty years, Dorothy (predeceased Feb 28th, 2005). Loving father of Paul (wife Karen); Stephen (wife Stasie); Mark; and Anne (husband David). Caring grandfather of Erin and Hallam, Matthew and Andrew, Isaac and Hannah, McKenzie and Benjamin. Bert enlisted in the British navy in 1932 and saw action during W.W.2. while serving on the H.M.S Indomitable. He became a Christian in 1934 and after the war, enrolled at Toronto Baptist Seminary, obtaining a Bachelor of Theology degree. While a Probation Officer in Windsor (1958-65) he was also active in pastoral ministry. Heart-felt thanks and deep appreciation to the wonderful care-givers and staff of Bethany Lodge who have looked after our father during his residency. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Friday, February 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Toronto Free Presbyterian Church, 1600 Neilson Road, Scarborough, ON.
