Bruno was born in Susegana, Treviso, Italy in 1932. Due to the nature of his father’s occupation, Bruno and his family eventually settled in Casarsa Della Delizia, Pordenone, Friuli. It was at a dance in 1954 where Bruno and a young lady locked eyes across the dance floor. This chance encounter led to Bruno marrying Liliana in 1957 and over the next 68 years he remained by her side.
After immigrating to Canada in 1961, Bruno and Liliana began to build a new life and together raised two daughters, Nadia (late John) and Gladys (Rick). Bruno was a proud and much cherished Nonno to Adam (Anisia) and Matthew (Diana). He was a fun and loving great-grandfather to Matteo and Marco who he thoroughly enjoyed playing with and who made him laugh uncontrollably with their antics.
Bruno is now reunited with his parents and siblings (Francesco, Egidio, Regina, and Adriana). He will forever be loved, missed and fondly remembered as Zio Bruno to his many nephews and nieces and their families in both Canada and Italy. His welcoming smile, warmth, kindness, and the respect he had towards others will leave a lasting impression on extended family and friends. As the ultimate “Mr. Fix-It”, his knowledge, resourcefulness, generosity of time, and his helping hand was always appreciated and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family have requested donations in Memory of Bruno Pavan be made to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
