Caterina was born in 1946 in Chiaravalle Italy, a small southern village in province of Cantenzaro. She moved to Toronto in the late 1960s after marrying her sweetheart from the same town, Antonio Carello. Caterina will be remembered and cherished forever by her two sons Nick and Peter and her daughter Teresa and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Pardiss, Pariya and Anthony. Caterina lived her life by putting others first and always there to lend a hand. You could find her in her kitchen making pasta, bread or perfecting a cookie recipe. In the summer she loved taking care of her vegetable garden and then sharing the fruits of her labour. Everyone that knew Caterina will truly miss her compassion and generosity towards others. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

Caterina was the most lovely, kind and classy lady. She cared about everyone at Aramark and CIBC as though we were her family. Sending love and thoughts to her beautiful family. Caterina, until we meet on the other side....xoxo Martine

Dear Carello Family,

I am so saddened to hear about the passing of this beautiful soul. She reminded me so much of my mother in so many ways. She was truly a loving, caring and genuine lady who took care of everyone at CIBC. I would often tell her that she made my coffee the same way my late mother did for me. It was perfectly crafted each time with an abundance of love added to it. She would smile to me and say thank you “Stellutza”, without realizing how much of an impact she had on me spiritually.

We would talk in Calabrese and shared so many funny stories with one another -- teaching her co-workers how to Italianize the Canadian language. She was truly remarkable and one of a kind. I missed her in retirement and will truly miss her now that she has been called Home.

Sending healing thoughts and prayers to the family filled with love and light. May God be with you during this difficult time. Una signora verramente meravigliosa - Mandiamo preghiere alla famiglia in questo momento di dolore.
Riposa in pace. xo

Dear Carello Family,

We were all saddened by the passing of Zia. We will fondly remember her kindness, graciousness and gentle and caring ways. She always made us feel very welcome in her home.

I can truly speak on behalf of the entire family, that both Zia and the late Uncle Tony were the pillars of strength and love that we all looked upon for advice and guidance. They were always there to lend a helping hand and offer support.
We will miss you dearly and will always remember your unconditional love that you shared not only for your family but for your entire extended family.

Love always ...

To the Carello family, my deepest condolences on the loss of your mother. I had the pleasure and the honour to have her “serve” my coffee to perfection everyday at CIBC. We spoke often in our calabrese dialect, about life, grandkids, recipes and so much more.

We always exchanged stories about how busy life was at “ pomodori season”. Her smile was contagious and so beautiful. I remember how often she spoke to me about her grandkids. She was truly a beautiful soul. May she find peace.

Gone too soon but forever remembered.
