Charles Alexander Springer, age 74, passed away on May 8, 2026. Born on March 10, 1952, in Bridgetown, Barbados, Charles later made his home in Toronto, Ontario, where he was held in deep regard by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Amira Springer; his brothers, Edward Springer, Christopher Springer, Anthony Springer, Patrick Springer, and Harlow Broomes of Barbados; his sisters, Annette Springer and Juliana Springer; his niece, Sarah Springer; his nephew, Malcom Springer; and many other nieces and nephews and his cousin, Claudette. He was predeceased by his parents, Ann Springer, and Darrell Springer, his sister, Catherine Springer, and his brother, Winston Springer.
He was a cherished friend of Sister Clare, The Sandiford Family and Swindell Family and Mr. and Mrs. Rick & Donna Bartland and many, many more—connections that spoke to the respect he earned and the care he extended throughout his life.
Charles will be remembered as a beloved presence—steadfast in faith, generous in spirit, and quietly grounding to family and friends alike. Even in serious moments, his humour had a way of easing a room, offering comfort without fanfare and reminding others that warmth and dignity can live side by side.
Visitation will be held at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON, M4C 1L3, on May 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a Funeral Service to follow from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
