Miss Clara Eleda Shier

Passed away on January 22, 2013 just short of her 101st birthday at Christie Gardens , Toronto, where she lived for many years. Clara was born January 31, 1912 near Cannington, Ontario the beloved daughter of the late Richard and Luvenia (Ashby) Shier. Dear sister of Alvin, Delson, Ruth and Ephraim, all of whom predeceased her. She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Clara started her one and only job with the Toronto Star in 1929 and worked there until her retirement at age 65. A funeral service will be held at the Trull “North Toronto Chapel” Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 2704 Yonge Street, (5 blocks south of Lawrence Ave.) Toronto, on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Interment will take place following at Cedarvale Cemetery, Cannington, Ontario. In memory of Clara, donations to the Toronto Star Fresh Air Fund would be appreciated.
