On November 28, 2016 at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket, Clifford Norman Taylor entered through Heaven's gates where he was greeted with joy by His Lord and Saviour Jesus, and by his dear wife Elaine. We can just imagine the reunion! Born in Toronto to Ernest and Evelyn Taylor, Cliff was predeceased by his brother Arthur, and survived by his sister Norma Crook (William). Sadly, the love of his life, his wife of 71 years Elaine (nee Richards) passed away in 2011. He was a wonderful Dad of Larry (Kathy) and Nancy Hill (Ian Pelman), granddad of Scott (Drina) Hill, Kimberly Taylor, Keith (Amy) Hill, Kristine (John) Skoupas, Melanie (Anthony) Bell, and Mark (Nancy) Taylor; Meaghan (Michael) Gronowski, and Ryan Pelman. He was Great-Granddad of Lindsay (Craig) Clark, Kaitlyn, Dallas, Hayden, and Brooklyn Hill; Nicole (Rory) McDowell, Jesse MacLellan, Jasmin, Branden and Jade Skoupas; Jeremiah and Cameron Taylor, Isaiah Bell, Madison Warren and Benjamin Gronowski. His two new great-great-grandchildren were a source of pride-Bennett McDowell and Lily Alice Clark.
"There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his family". He made friends by making everyone feel special. Dad was a gentleman, a hard worker, a fisherman, a master mechanic, a patient teacher and a lifelong learner. At age 70 he took up skiing. At age 80 he learned to use the computer. At age 91 he took up line dancing!
He loved to listen to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and watch them in their sporting and artistic events. The cottage was a favourite destination! Dad enjoyed his new friends at the Aurora Senior Centre where he was a member for five years. For his last few months he enjoyed the company of so many new friends at the Alexander Muir Chartwell Retirement Residence where he was treated by all staff and residents with such love and respect.
Thank you to the staff at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre (Drs. Gerard Morton and Urban Emmenegger and nurse Sima), the Southlake Hospital Stronach Cancer Centre (Dr. Harold Yeun) and the loving and capable Cancer ward nurses Alex, Stephanie and Jessie.
Friends may call the JERRETT FUNERAL HOME, 660 Kennedy Rd., Scarborough on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 1-2 pm followed by a service in the Chapel at 2 pm. Interment at Pine Hills Cemetery.
