

Colin is survived by his daughter Mandisa (Andrew); grandchildren Zahara and Nile; sister Cheryl (Reuben); nephew Nigel (Shannon); niece Natasha (Lex); great‑nephew Ben; and great‑niece Kira. Colin is preceded by his wife Annabel Browne (née Kerr). His family and caring, supportive friends hope to forward his legacy of resilience, learning, and service.
Born in Georgetown, Guyana to Winnifred Cyrus and Edgar Browne, Colin’s early life shaped his deep belief in community care and social responsibility. A lifelong learner, he earned a Bachelor of Social Work from York University and later completed both a Master of Education and Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto.
Colin devoted his career to supporting others. His work at CAMH and the Children’s Aid Society reflected his unwavering commitment to mental health, equity, and compassionate social work. He approached every role with integrity, humility, and a belief in the dignity of all people.
In honour of Colin’s generous spirit, donations may be made to one of the charities he supported: Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Sickle Cell Association of Ontario, Canadian Lung Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
Visitation will be held at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON, M4C 1L3, CA, on July 31, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at the same location on July 31, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
