Colin passed away peacefully on the morning of April 7, 2020 at the age of 96. He was born in Toronto in 1924. He served in Italy and Holland with the Irish Regiment in WWII before returning to Canada to join the Toronto Police Service where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant before retiring. He was predeceased by his wife Marilyn, brother Alec, sister Jean and stepsiblings Gordon and Ina. He is survived by daughters Alison and Paige (Oliver). Colin was an avid gardener and took great pride in maintaining his home. He was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed summer holidays at Minden and singing in the choir at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church. A special thank you to all staff at “L” Wing and Dorothy Machum Home, Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, whose compassionate care was a great comfort to his family during this past year. Donations in his memory can be sent to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario or Canada, the Scott Mission and the North York Harvest Food Bank.
