I remember meeting Connie a few years ago when Trish Smith my piano student asked if I would like to meet her being related to Alexander Muir.
As a professional musician and piano teacher over 40 years it was a delight to meet someone related to Alexander Muir who wrote The Maple Leaf Forever. I have played it so many times for my Canada Day shows and then to meet Connie and see some of her memorabilia about Alexander Muir was a thrill over a cup of coffee, Plus the fact my mother was from northern Scotland and I visited Aberdeen when there in 1960s.not knowing then that's where Mr Muir came from.

In Newmarket on the site where Alexander Muir Public School stood for many years .
Thank you Connie for the musical memories. I will cherish them all my life

I was saddened to read of the passing of your mother.  My sister Wanda & I remember she and your dad through our parents, Reta & Del, from the days of the 'Mr & Mrs Club'. On the occasions when 'the children' got together too, I clearly recall the soft and charming manner that your mother always portrayed.

I am fortunate to have known her. I know you will miss her.

I have so many lovely memories of Connie. Connie and Bruce were good friends of my parents (Bill and Mary Cole) in the early 60s everyone golfed together at the Briars. The Johnson cottage was just up the road on Duclos Point from ours. In the 70s both couples bought farms and everyone's interests turned to country living.  (Crops, ponds, taping maple trees) Even our huge family dog "Dudley" came as a result of a visit to Connie and Bruce's farm.  
In the late 80s I joined Connie's water colour group and she became my painting mentor. Connie was a very gifted artist I still enjoy several of her watercolours in my home. 
Connie was always fun to be with.  She had a great sense of humour. She was also very kind and generous.   A great lady and a life well lived.

got fond memories of her at Bethany. I will always remember her lovely smile and the pleasure she took in everything around her. She was a grand lady.

My deepest condolences to Paul, Tom and David, and to all that had the privilege of knowing her. Great aunt Connie was a lovely, gentle and kind person - I have so many great memories of being with her and laughing together a long time ago on the farm. She was a brilliant artist and one of my prize possessions is a sketch of two fiddle players that she gave to my dad, John.

David, Tom and Paul; I having nothing but the fondest reminiscences of your mother back from the days at Duclos Point. She was always so kind to me. I'm gratefully for each memory that she provided and they will always remain as something special for me. To each of you my deepest condolences.

Cousins Paul, Tom & David,
Your lovely Mother, my dear Aunt Connie, was a very special person to me.  From a young age, we thoroughly enjoyed spending time together, often chatting over tea or playing the piano.
I loved hearing her delightful anecdotes of bygone years with Uncle Bruce & my parents, especially after the tragic effects of Cancer & Alzheimer's.  
Aunt Connie's marvellous talents as a Watercolour Artist and Teacher inspired me to start sketching & then painting.  As a mentor, her encouragement & thought-provoking discussions about art & teaching will stay with me in the years ahead.
Aunt Connie's kind-hearted, gregarious & appreciative nature will continue as my role model.  We certainly agreed that we were both very blessed with our Sons.  My cousins, your selfless caregiving fulfilled Aunt Connie's desire to continue living in her home setting, along with weekend jaunts to the farm.  Truly a testament of enduring love!  She will be sorely missed!
My family joins me in our heartfelt sympathy in the loss of such a loving Mother - our awesome Aunt & Great Aunt.

It was always a pleasure to visit Connie at her home or at the farm.  My condolences to Tom and the rest of the family.

Connie was a wonderful artist whom I met at Toronto Watercolour Society over 20 years ago and met frequently at meetings and shows.  We always had a lovely chat and rapport.   I will remember her fondly.

Connie was a complete person in every way.  She demonstrated a willingness to care about everyone and everything around her. She was a good listener and would always offer her sound advise. Artistic, kind, gentle and pleasant to be with are only a few of your Mother's wonderful qualities.
