Dana Visoiu

Born in Giurgiu, Romania, Dana graduated in 1966 with Suma cum Laudae as Bachelor in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Petroleum and Gas (IPGG), Bucharest, Romania. She had a brilliant career at the Institute for Chemical Processing and Design (Iprochim). As Chief Chemical Engineer, she has designed many chemical plants in Romania ranging from petro-chemicals to pharmaceuticals. She mentored and inspired countless young engineers and interns. After 1990, she was a consultant, and designed for the private industries, including Tis Pharmaceutical from where she retired in 2016.

Her family and daughters were everything to her. She was a loving and supportive mother, a role model who showed them that every dream is within reach. A kind and luminous soul, she touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her positive and encouraging spirit. The love she gave had no limits.

After the birth of her grandchildren, she used every vacation day to be with them and help raise them. She was the most kind, encouraging and doting grandmother, who dedicated the past 20 years of her life completely to them. In 2017, she moved to Toronto and lived with her daughter, Irina, Irina’s husband Ken, and her four grandsons.

Dana was predeceased by her husband, Corneliu Visoiu. She is survived by her daughters, Oana Cazacu and Irina Stevens, and her grandsons, Conrad Moise Stevens, Henry Walter Stevens, Joshua Martin Stevens, and Peter George Stevens.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the services in Bucharest, Romania:

• Evening Prayer Service (Priveghi): Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 6:00 PM (18:00) at Mântuleasa Church (Biserica Mântuleasa), Strada Mântuleasa 20, București.

• Funeral Service: Friday, May 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Mântuleasa Church.

• Interment: Following the Friday service, the funeral procession will depart for burial at the Ghencea Civil Cemetery (Cimitirul Ghencea Civil), Bulevardul Ghencea 18, București.

An informal Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Irina and Ken Stevens on the afternoon of Saturday, June 6, 2026, where we will serve Bunica’s favourite recipes. Friends are invited to drop by for a visit any time between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
