David Robert Corbett

My Husband David and I loved to travel, especially sailing on the Queen Mary 2. David has set sail to a place free of disease, illness and especially cancer. David lifted into the heavens on Saturday, February 22, 2025. David was born in Niagara Falls Ontario to parents Albert and Georgina Corbett who are deceased. David had a distinguished career in the Performing Arts and Health Care fields. Survived by his loving husband of 33 years Brian Birkby. Cherished brother of Ray (Rachel) and Janice (Chris Palmaro). Also survived by David’s Brother-in-Law Kris Birkby (Heather Chadwick) and Sister-in-Law Lynn Marie Birkby. Special Uncle to Renee (Travis Floyd), Steven (Melissa Bikowski), Scott and Casey Palmaro, Justin Birkby (Ashley) and Katherine Birkby (Anna). Great Uncle of Ashton and Isla Floyd and Lucy and James Corbett. Also survived by David’s cousins and many friends that were a part of our extended family. Special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Support Staff at the Mt. Sinai and Bridgepoint hospitals for the outstanding care David received. Also thanks to Dr. Mason and staff at the Princess Margaret Pencer Brain Tumor Centre. David and I are appreciative of all the acts of kindness and best wishes during his illness from our family and friends especially our neighbors. Finally thank you to Rev. Dudley and Rev. Williams for all of the support David and I received during his journey.

Visitation will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, located at 467 Sherbourne Street, Toronto Ontario, pre-service visitation on Saturday, March 01, 2025 from 1 to 2 p.m. Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 2 p.m. at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home and Chapel with Rev. Dudley of the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto and Rev. Williams of the Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Rexdale officiating. Internment in the spring at the Necropolis Cemetery. Memorial donations in David’s memory can be made to the Allan Gardens Food bank or Brain Cancer Canada.
