David Edwin Reed

August 3, 1943 – July 11, 2026

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of David Edwin "Dave" Reed on July 11, 2026, at the age of 82. Dave passed away at his home in Don Mills, Ontario.

Dave was predeceased by his parents, Olive and David Reed, and by his siblings, Robert "Bob" Reed, Michael John Reed, and Susan Marie Reed.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Leslie Nannen (née Reed) and her husband, Robert Nannen, and Olivia Lehman (née Reed) and her husband, Chris Lehman, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Lucas, Zachary, and Roisin.

Golf was far more than a hobby for Dave—it was his lifelong passion. As a founding member of Meadowbrook Golf Club in Stouffville, having joined more than 50 years ago, he forged countless friendships and spent some of his happiest days on the course. Whether he was playing a round, watching professional tournaments, or debating the finer points of the game, golf was woven into the fabric of his life. He was always on the hunt for the next club, gadget, or training aid that might shave a stroke or two off his game.

Known for his sharp intellect, dry sense of humor, and strong opinions, Dave enjoyed following world events, watching sports (especially golf), listening to Jimmy Buffett, and putting the occasional wager on a game. Above all, he treasured time with his family, particularly in his later years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Meadowbrook Golf Club, located on 11939 Warden Avenue, Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario on Saturday July, 18 2026 at 1:00 pm

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canada's First Tee Youth Golf.
