It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of their beloved son and brother, Dean, peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 14th at the age of 49.
Dean was larger than life, and unforgettable to anyone who met him. He was born in Timmins, Ontario and set off early to pursue his big city dreams. He worked tirelessly for years to perfect his craft and build his clientele. Dean won awards for his acclaimed Toronto salon, Dean DelMonte & Company, the dream he worked relentlessly to achieve.
Dean loved to travel and was happiest in the company of his many friends who he considered family. He is survived by his mother Judy Pezzola (David Butti) of North Bay, sisters Mandy DelMonte (Rick Kenny) of London, Treva Murray (Mike Murray) of Georgetown, Gina Lapain (Shawn Lapain) of Ottawa, and Susan Heilman (Mark Heilman) of Calgary. Dean is predeceased by his father William DelMonte Jr., and will be sadly missed by his stepmother Dorothea DelMonte of Ottawa. He leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his energy, wit, and joie de vivre. It brings comfort to the family to know he is in the arms of his Nan, Evelyn Pezzola, who he absolutely adored.
A celebration of Dean’s life will be held at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home on Saturday, May 21st from 1pm – 4pm. The family invites friends to say a few words and share their memories in an informal ceremony at 3pm. In keeping with the celebration, the family will not be wearing black, and encourages guests to do the same.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Dean’s favourite charity Casey House at https://caseyhouse.ca/support-us/donate-now/
