He is survived by his loving wife Toula Procopos, his eldest daughter Elizabeth Procopos, son-in-law Niko Katsaris, granddaughter Demetra Katsaris, youngest daughter Georgina Foerter, son-in-law Trent Foerter, granddaughters Britney Foerter and Cassie Foerter, and grandson-in-law William Preston Barclay.
He was born in Kandila, Mandinia, Greece on December 20, 1933. He immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1955. He married Toula on May 25, 1958. He is remembered by his work ethic, boundless energy, generosity, compassion, sense of humour, and his homemade wine and tsipouro, which he credited for his long life. Above all else, he enjoyed time with his family, and taking care of his animals, gardens, and the people he loved.
A visitation will be held at Jerrett Funeral Home in Scarborough on Sunday, September 20 from 3 - 7 PM. A funeral service will take place on Monday, September 21 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at 10 AM, followed by the burial at Pine Hills Cemetery and lunch reception. All friends and family are welcome.
