Passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2018 with her family by her side in Toronto, Ontario. Survived by Loving Husband, Jorge. Wonderful Mother of Olga (Gino) and Paul (Piera). Proud and Loving Grandma of Jack and Jamie. Deolinda will be deeply missed by her Adored Brother, Antonio (Lurdes) and nephew and many nieces in Portugal, where she spent many summers. Deolinda had a kind soul and was known to be light-hearted, fun, jovial, strong and selfless. The courage and strength she bared throughout her illness was nothing short of amazing. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening in the garden she worked so hard on. She spent a lot of her time sewing, and was an avid and year round swimmer. To find her in the pool was to see her happy. Above all else, she loved her family dearly. Deolinda’s Family would like to thank all of the medical staff and support workers for the unwavering compassion and care they showed towards her and themselves during such a challenging time. Very special thanks to Dr. Mark Bernstein from the Temmy Latner Centre, Jennifer Lam, RN – Saint Elizabeth Health Care, Dr. Paul Kortan and Allison Foster of St. Michael’s Hospital, and Dr. Breffni Hannon and Sonya Witz, RN of Princess Margaret Hospital.
