Derrick Oswald Roberts

With heavy hearts, yet with gratitude for the life he lived, we announce the passing of Derrick Oswald Roberts, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched many lives.

Derrick was born on January 24, 1963, in Spanish Town, Jamaica, to the late Leonard Roberts and Lena Roberts. He was predeceased by his beloved brother Anthony Roberts.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Heidi, his children Keneil, Byran, Tristan, Brandon, Kiara, and Daniel, and his cherished grandchildren Ianna, Joshua, Samuel, Mikayla, Aria, Aziah, and Kiyomi. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings Rupert, Cleveland, Perlene, Daphne, Claudette, Janet, Baldwin, Sonia, Pernell, and Marcia, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Derrick was known for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and unmistakable deep dimpled smile. He had a special way of making people feel welcome and valued, and many knew they could depend on him for encouragement, wise counsel, or a helping hand. He was a man who quietly supported others and showed up when it mattered most.

He loved bringing people together. Whether preparing a meal, hosting family gatherings, or sharing stories around the table, Derrick found great joy in creating moments of laughter and connection.

His home was often filled with the warmth of family, good food, and lasting memories.

Derrick treasured time spent with his grandchildren and loved travelling with his beloved wife by his side.

He also enjoyed thoughtful conversations about both local and world affairs, always engaging others with curiosity and insight.

A man of strength, kindness, and deep love for his family, Derrick also held a sincere faith in God and chose to walk his journey with Him.

Though he is no longer with us, the love he shared and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will take place at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5, CA, on March 27, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Bethlehem United Church Apostolic - Toronto, 1 Leswyn Rd, Toronto, ON M6A 2W9, CA, on March 28, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A Committal Service will follow at Westminster Cemetery, Mausoleum & Cremation Centre, 5830 Bathurst St, Toronto, ON M2R 1Y6, CA, on March 28, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Global Apostolic Ministries, 1232 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Ontario M1P2C3.
