

passed away peacefully surrounded by family members at Toronto East General Hospital on November 29, 2011 in her 89th year. Beloved wife for 56 years of the late Walter Gordon. Lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses, Don and Joyce Gordon, Sheila Gordon-Dillane and Jim Dillane, Beth and Barry Moore, Jessie Gordon and Philip Davis and Ross and Leslie Gordon and her 12 grandchildren, Andrew, Chris, Greg, Tim, Philip, Jeff, Mary Louise, Karen, Kenzie, Mark, Danielle and Ann, and their partners. Sister of the late Bill Virtue; daughter of the late Jessie (Wilson Virtue) Linehan and Reid Virtue. Dorothy was a very talented artist who studied art at Danforth Tech. Later she took night courses at OCA and studied art history at the University of Toronto. She has left a legacy of many beautiful portraits and paintings of landscapes and heritage buildings in the mediums of oil, watercolours, and pastel. She was a member of the Don Valley Art Club and Birchcliff Bluffs United Church and in earlier years was a member of The Architectural Conservancy of Ontario and the Voice of Women. Dorothy enjoyed many happy summers at the family cottage on Pigeon Lake. A Memorial Service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held at Birchcliff Bluffs United Church (33 East Road, Toronto, M1N 1Z9 (Warden Ave. & Kingston Road)) on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 with visitation from 1 – 3 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Birchcliff Bluffs United Church, Friends of Canadian Broadcasting, the Ontario Lung Association, or the Parkinson Society Canada.
