Thank you Doug for being  part of some of my most cherished memories for so many years with the Ward family.  Blessed to have had a brother in you over those years. Not saying good bye Doug just praying for you as you start your journey on the other side.

Uncle Doug, while we may not have spent too much time together, I am glad I got to know the caring person you are. I’m glad I got to be a witness to your love for your nieces, sister and wife.  I will always appreciate you sharing your camera  to make sure we could capture my graduation from university, and my sister and I think of you and Debbie every Christmas Eve. May you find peace, you deserve it. 

To my Uncle Doug, I’m sorry I didn’t have the chance to return home before your passing, but you live on in the memories of your friends and family ❤️ My earliest memory is the thrill of seeing the two little birds that flew around your home, my most recurring memories are the visits for Christmas to exchange gifts and hug my Uncle Doug and Aunt Debbie, and my most enduring regret is not having visited more. You were loved, you are loved, you will continue to be loved in the hearts and minds of those who knew you.

I knew Doug both professionally and personally and will miss him. He was a kind man and was passionate about his beliefs. His greatest happiness was his wife,  the love of his life; you made him a very happy man Debbie, always remember that.

Brother   Doug
In our youth, we were known as “The Twins.” We went everywhere and did everything together. Ours was a good life:
The Cottage, fishing, summer camp,travelling on Dad’s yacht, rope swings, The St. Clair  Restaurant, The Commie, hanging with our friends…..and on and on. 
As we grew up, life got in the way and we went off on different  pursuits. Despite  that we always remained friends and We  will be linked together forever.  Say hi to all the guys. See you when I get there.

I have known Doug since the late 60s when many of us congregated on St.Clair Ave. E; at Plaxton. I golfed with Doug and we shared many memories on the fareway. Doug was an affable guy and may he rest in peace.

I met Douglas when he was a week shy of six; he became my big brother for the next 65 years.   
He lived in Parkview Hills all of his life, with a brief stay across the bridge in Oak Park.  Doug was a true East Yorker for all of his life.  
Doug’s greatest love was his wife Debbie.  She was his everything,  Doug loved and cherished Deb with all his heart. 
May his memory be a blessing to all who had the pleasure of knowing Doug. 🌹


Deb, very sorry to hear about Doug's passing.  He was a fun guy to work with and always good for a laugh which we really needed in our mad world.  He was a lucky man to have such a wonderful woman by his side. Our thoughts are with you.

Doug was a funny character, working with him I learned so much about him during our working relationship. I was saddened to hear of his passing, but he is now pain free and finally at peace.
