Edna Florence Hennessey

Edna Florence Hennessey (nee Dawe) passed away comfortably at home surrounded by family on March 10, 2023. Following cremation in Toronto, an inurnment will take place in Newfoundland at a later date where Edna will be reunited with her late husband Robert Hennessey. Edna was born on May 1, 1941 in Seal Grove, CBS, Newfoundland. She is predeceased by her father Henry Dawe, her mother Fannie Delaney, her step-father Andrew Delaney, and her grandmother Florence Butler. Edna is survived by her sister Susie (Ray), her children Sylvia (Eugene), Robert (Elizabeth), David (Sandra) and Dwayne (John), her grandchildren Robert (Tammy), Wanda (Brian), Trevor (Pablo), her great grandchildren Dylan and Dakota, her many nieces and nephews, and her forever friend Helen. Edna will always be remembered as the matriarch of the family. Both she and her husband Robert were always so giving, and would do anything for anybody. She and Robert were joined at the hip, and faced many challenges together, all of which they overcame. She adored her family, and was well loved in return. She was also the one to initiate all of the in-laws into the family. She was assertive, determined, and she did everything on her own time. Edna will also be remembered for her love of Law & Order, Family Feud, car racing, bingo, trips to Florida and Nashville, country music, and long drives.
