Ellen Roberta McVey, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home in the Beaches on December 23, 2025.
She was a loving mother to Bob (Claudette); a cherished grandmother to Laurie (Matt), Lindsay (Matt), and Michael (Bryon); and a proud great-grandmother to Avalynn, Matthew, and Arya. Ellen was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Ola Hermiston.
Born in Toronto, Ontario on January 5, 1934, Ellen enjoyed a successful career as Secretary to the President of a large advertising agency. Following her retirement, she devoted her time to family, faith, and community. She taught Bible class and was a dedicated and valued member of her church.
The immediate family will attend a viewing to pay their respects at the Giffen-Mack Chapel on Sunday, January 4. In the spring the burial service will take place at Pine Hills Cemetery followed by a celebration of life, details will be conveyed to all.
