Peacefully at the Toronto East General Hospital on Saturday, September 17, 2011, in his 81st year, Ernest passed away. Ernest is the beloved husband of Raymonde, loving Father of Mark and his wife Gail-Ann, Diane and her husband Henry and Michel and his wife Betty. Dear Papa to Marc and his wife Sarah, Danielle and her husband Michael, Tammy and her partner Spencer, Jennifer, Ariel, Ashley and Zoe. Dear GranPapa to Bryceson, Mikayla, Emerson, Sawyer, Isaac, Elijah, and Seirra. Loving brother to Celine and Aurel. Family and friends are invited to Giffen-Mack 'Danforth' Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 2570 Danforth Ave., (at Main St. subway) on Monday, Sepember 19 from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be said on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Canadian Martryrs' RC Church, 520 Plains Rd., (On Woodbine, one block south of O'Connor Drive) on Wednesay at 11:00 a.m. Interment following at Pine Hills Cemetery.

GOD SAW THAT ERNEST WAS GETTING TIRED

God saw Ernest was getting tired

When a cure was not to be.

So He wrapped His arms around him

And whispered “Come to Me”

In tears we saw Ernest sinking,

We watched him fade away.

Our hearts were truly broken,

He fought so hard to stay.

But when we saw Ernest sleeping,

Peacefully and free from pain,

We could not wish him back,

To suffer that again.

So keep your arms around Ernest, Lord,

And give him special care,

Make up for all he suffered,

That seemed to us unfair.

So many times we’ve needed him.

So many times we’ve cried.

If love could have saved him,

Ernest never would have died.
