Evelyn Ida Brant

Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late Gordon “Papa” Brant, who passed away in 2021. Together, they shared a life filled with family, love, laughter, and many cherished memories, including the Alaskan cruise they took together—one of the many adventures she fondly remembered over the years.

She was a loving mother to Craig Kerr (Lori) and Glenn Kerr (Brenda), and a devoted grandmother to Hayley, Meagan, Shannon (Brandt) Emily (Gill), and Grant. She was also a proud GG to Harper and Hazel (Shannon).

While Evelyn was a mother and grandmother to her own family, her caring nature and ability to listen meant that she became a mother figure to many. She had a way of making people feel heard, welcomed, and cared for. She was the glue that held the family together, and in so many ways, the reason family and friends remained connected throughout the years.

Evelyn was immensely proud of all of her grandchildren and made a genuine effort to be involved in their lives. She took an interest in their hobbies, passions, and accomplishments, always making time to listen, encourage, and share in the things that mattered to them.

She was also a wonderfully creative and crafty woman who enjoyed knitting, crochet, quilting, sewing, and reading. Over the years, she lovingly created many beautiful quilts, each one made with patience and care. Those quilts have gone on to become treasured keepsakes, carrying with them not only her incredible talent, but a little piece of her heart.

She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever a part of the family she held so close to her heart.

Visitation will take place at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON, M1K2B5, CA, on August 18, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

Burial will follow at Bethesda Lutheran Cemetery, 9423 Kennedy Rd, Markham, ON, L6C 1N7, CA, on August 18, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
