Ramiro:  I have been thinking about you ever since I found out about Filomena's passing.  I was travelling when I found out so I was not able to attend the funeral.  Now, its almost 10 months since her passing, and I have not yet acknowledged it.  Please know that you and your sons are often in my thoughts, and my message of sympathy is sincere even if it is quite late.

Words cannot express my sadness today when I learned of Filomena's passing.  She was a vibrant, intelligent and passionate woman whom I had the privilege to know and work with at Archbishop Romero. My deepest condolences to the Neves-Polonio family. Ms. Neves_polonio was an amazing teacher who did everything she could to help her students succeed. I will always remember everything she taught me and cherish those fun moments we all had together in class. She will be deeply missed by all of her students and will always be in our prayers.

On Christmas Eve Filomena left us and went on her journey to meet baby Jesus our Saviour Lord. It's no wonder she did so on such a Holy Night as children were her life. She was a devoted mother of three sons and a wonderful teacher to many.She was a gift to us all sharing her love of life and passion. You have been missed but not forgotten always in my thoughts and prayers.

Ones life is not measured by it's length, but by the positive way one affects the lives of others with courage, love and devotion. Filomena was such a person. Heaven has gained an angel.

Jeff and I met Filomena and Ramiro through friendships our sons (Jason and Eric) have with Julius, Marcus and Alexander.  Yet Filomena and Ramiro became our good friends.  We have shared so many fun times whether at each others houses for dinners and family parties, watching our sons play baseball and make music together or having so much fun up north at our cottage.  Filomena was such a dynamic and loving woman.  I will always remember her as a woman who put family first and lived for others.  She was so very proud of her three sons.  We love you Filomena and will continue to support and love Ramiro, Julius, Marcus and Alexander.

Parece que foi ontem e já lá vão 30 anos que nos conhecemos. Quero agradecer-vos do fundo do coração o carinho, amizade e o respeito que por mim tiveram todo este tempo, assim como pedir desculpa se alguma vez os deixei mal, pois se tal aconteceu, me desculpem que foi sem intenção.
Mena; Hoje queria dizer-te tanta coisa mas não consigo, o meu pesar è certamente como o de todos os teus amigos e Família (e ela que não gostava nada disto e dizia logo; desembucha Pragosa) desculpa Mena mas não consigo. Lembro, que hoje era o dia em que a Família Neves se reunia para o almoço, o qual por vezes entrava pela madrugada dentro. Onde todos eram animadores, em especial Pai Mário e filha Mena com magia sábia e natural, nos contagiavam com conversas e brincadeiras, que ainda hoje recordo com muito carinho e acima de tudo me fazem falta. Agradeço ao Senhor Nosso Deus, por vos ter conhecido e partilhado momentos inesquecíveis, pois foram os anos mais felizes da minha vida.

My most sincere condolences to the Neves-Polonio family...I will never forget Filomena's laugh and how much fun we had together at school.  She was always ready to listen and knew how to brighten up my day, usually because she would laugh hysterically at things I had said.
